FMCG365 Event – 2019

Discovered: New day in the week!

“According to almost 70% of questioned sales, CRM and marketing managers, bad planning results in 5 to 10 hours of lost time per work week for field workers. These results emerged from a questionnaire we gave our key players during our FMCG365 event. Loss of time due to inefficient planning mounts up to a whole day of work per 40-hour-work week,” says Tom Moortgat, CEO of Avento.

“Showing the extra mile”

That’s a whole lot. Needless to say, CEO Tom Moortgat and Steven De Backer, Product Manager FMCG365, had the full attention of these FMCG leaders during their speech. “We elaborately talked about tools to control your schedule and to perform efficient store checks. For each tool, we also explained what ‘the extra mile’ was, i.e. how a certain feature results in a gain of efficiency,” says Steven.

“Establish your own targets”

“The possibility to establish your own targets in the app was very popular. The goal is of course to measure numbers, targets and data, not to monitor your people. The quality of the work is always priority number one,” says Steven. This was confirmed by a few other results from the opening questionnaire at the event. According to almost 70% of the participants, the most important KPI to evaluate field workers was the number of leads or contacts they bring on.”

Let sectorial knowledge render

According to 50%, the most important KPI overall was the ‘share of shelf’ for certain product categories, as opposed to the competition. “And what was one of our topics during the event? That’s right, ‘Fast and Intelligent Store Checks’, including our unrivalled ‘share of shelf calculator’ that tells you how much of your product is on a shelf, based on one picture. We really do know our target audience,” concludes Tom Moortgat.
